Nepia Genki Pants Review

I just got my hands on this sample at Aeon Big , Midvalley after visiting the TCE Mama Expo (held from 30July till 1Aug.

Nepia, Genki Pants appears to be from a Japan Company but locally made in Malaysia. A.ka. Japanese technology but Malaysia assembly.

Both looks the same, no written words to indicate front or back. It only stated blue lines is the front. This is bad for my mum which has bad eyesight due to old age. She cants actually see the blue lines due to long sighted. My maid too has a problem of the front n back because our house's light was a bit dimp,so she can't see the lines as well.

First look, diaper doesn't look very pretty. One tone colour of light blue. Not much of design. Gave me a feeling of a very "economical" diaper look. Texture wasn't much of an expectation  as i was having the mindset of Merries Diaper & Mamypoko Air fit which is also made in Japan and Japan Technology.
No sticky tapes to "tapao" (wrap) the filthy diaper after use.

It somehow makes me feel like Nepia Japan is looking down at us, Malaysian Mums. How dare you give this kind of quality of diaper to us and claims it is Japan Technology? I really feel disappointed with it and feels that Nepia think we, Malaysian are very cincai until simply put one lousy diaper also we can say Ichiba!

The introductory price of the diaper is about RM36.90 for a jumbo pack of 60 over pieces for M size. If it naik harga, please don't buy it anymore. Because the texture and feeling is totally like  Dryper pants. It is advisable to stay at that brand if this Nepia brand is expensiver than Drypers and Huggies. Besides, Drypers and Huggies design looks much more cuter than Genki Pants.

After 2 usage of these Genki Diaper, Sam did not feel comfortable with it. Why so? She kept poking her V part and tends to pull it away from her V  . It makes her look like she has a "tight" underwear that kept poking her inner thighs.  I realised it was also the elastic bands between her thighs. It is not tight but the texture of the pants made her feel uncomfortable.

Therefore, Malaysia Nepia...u have lots of amendments to be done to capture the hearts of Malaysia Parents. All the best.

Huggies Ultra Pants Review

As you can see, there's a bag of Huggies Ultra Pants for Girls in my stroller..
Story goes like this, I was out of town wit my baby and husband at Johor for a few days before we head into Singapore. The silly me forgotten to pack "extra" diapers and I've to grab some before entering Singapore. (do mind that Singapore exchange rate is pretty exp)

Following are the outlook of the diaper..
The store i went; Tesco didn't carry Merries walker pants. Mamypoko air fit pants only starts on Size L and Sam is only a M size girl. ..So I've to opt for another brand... (yes,  walker pants are easy for travelling. no need to lay down to change but a standing position will do)

This brand caught my eyes due to its promo price at RM 44.90 for 56 pcs (I aimed for a jumbo pax, god knows how much sam will need for 3 nights stay at SG)

Then, I started on wearing it on Sam and i already don't like it. Sam weights about 9kg and the diaper looks very saggy and "Droppy" even though it stated 6kg above.

Big bulk between the thighs, sticky tape behind for disposal purposes (This is esssential for travellers, as i often change Sam in the car and i need it to be tape down cuz i will only throw it at a pit stop). The sides of the diaper is hard to torn and i often ended up being elastic by its "elastic bands" around the waist area. Unlike Merries Walker pants, the tear is smooth and nice. This Huggies Gold Pants tend to be bumpy and there are fibres "Flying" around when i tore it.  The absorbent too is not as good as it claims. softness is ok but needs a change every 3 hours else Sam will develop rashes or diaper will looks like its being weight down to the legs due to the fitness of the diapers on Sam.

In the end, after a bag of this.. I'll not purchase it again....

Merries Walker Pants Review

Kao Merries has always been my all time favourite diaper ever since I tried it on Sam.

Texture of it was great and soft which doesn't give Sam rashes..

This picture has shown me buying a dozen of it to stock due to the promotion that they have. RM58.90per bag for tapes, and RM39.90 per bag for pants. The next time I will stock it will be Baby expo this coming 30th Sept because whenever Kao participates a baby fair...their offer are so great that u will think of stocking for a year supply!

I started giving Sam walker pants this recently because she cant lay still for a nappy change. With the Walker pants, I have a peace of mind! I still use the tape ones during night though...cheaper in a sense.. walker diaper costs more~!

Look at the W pattern on Sam's inner thighs? that's the effect I want. The rest of the diaper brands doesn't have such flexibilities (Mamypoko Air fit has it too) It is so nice, Sam loves the diaper and she is willing to come to me for a change whenever I hold a clean piece. Legs lift left and right , and off she goes!!!!

Happy Baby Super Food Puffs + Apple Monkey Organic Cracker + Little Jellies Corn Cakes Review

Hi, I'm back with reviews again...

With Sam of 17 months, I've started introducing snacks to her to let her occupied with it which allows me some moments to do some household work...

Of course, as we all know...snacks often create lots of trouble if we tend to give it a lot with less water intake. e.g of troubles: phlegm, throat irritations...HARD stools! oh yes, there's once I gave sam crackers and she ended up pretty badly....Little Monster wouldn't not drink her water after all these...

And so...I discovered this... Happy Baby Puffs made in USA at Aeon's rack...

One greatest inventions of all times, Sam adores it...tummy was okay with it..even without water, she wouldn't have any hard stools because it claims that it was sweetened by 100% fruit juice and its ORGANIC! Right...the word organic makes me excited and feels healthy~~~!

It is not filling as it melts in the mouth even though it is crunchy! So sam still can have a bowl of rice after a cup of this.

Less Mess made and easy to handle. Sam will just picked it up by herself while watchcing her favourite Peppa Pig show...which allows me to do my household chores in peace!

The  Only downfall of this product is its container is not air-tight. So do remember to shift all the puffs to another container to keep it.

I recently discovered with coupons of 11 streets, I can get it at a cheaper rate! hooray!!! Usually, I will have to pay RM 21.99 for a bottle of it. At 11street, it is about 16.90 after coupon discounts! Yippee!! Thank you 11street cuz Sam can easily wacked a bottle without stopping! With such great discounts, my wallet is saved!

Next Stop, this Apple Monkey Organic Crackers. It is one of my favourite in giving sam. Same as Happy Baby, it melts in the mouth. But with this crackers, it comes in individual packs. Meaning, I do not need to store it in a container to bring it out. I usually bring this if I go for travelling.

Did I mentioned that this is made in Thailand? I first saw this at Aeon which is selling at RM16.99. To my amaze when I went to Big C at Bangkok, this was only 76bath. Almost Twice of the price cheaper! So, mummies out there..do remember to grab a bunch if u r in Bangkok! Comes in more flavours than the ones we saw at Aeon.

Got this at 11street when I bought it the Baby Puffs of 6 bottles.
Abit disappointed with the seller because this free gift was about to expired next month. I was hesitating whether to give Sam a bite or not by putting it on the table and the next thing I know. My maid has put it in her Tupperware and I brought it out during breakfast.

Picture of Sam eating the corn cakes.

No, she didn't had any diarrhoea. (Thank god~!) and she just chewed on it anyway.. Sam doesn't have any problem eating this and can go on and on with it even after breakfast was served. (I usually gives her puffs to eat before food arrives..to silent her up)

These Corn Cakes can be found at Aeon as well at the price of RM11.90 ( sales) or RM 13.90 each bag.

Before I end my post, mummies out there...pls do remember, these snacks are not meals...meaning u still need to prepare stable food for your young ones. I only gave sam these snacks to fill up the gaps so that I can do my chores in a more easy way........

Pampers Active Baby Pants Review

After having an amazing experience with Pampers Cruiser (Made in Korea)  that I bought from 11 Street, I was confident that the brand of Pampers will definitely suits Sam.

I didn't even asked the seller where does these Pampers are made from because I was so pleased with their Cruisers!

So without further ado, I quickly bought this series with an amazing price.

As you know, 11street always have this amazing voucher to be downloaded from time to time.

it was at the price of RM151.67 for 3 bags of 82 pcs and with my voucher it was discount to the price of RM 112.03 with free shipping!

And After my amazing calculation, one piece is about 46 cents.

Cheaper than anything  brands lo!!!

These darlings are made in Indonesia and carter for Indonesia. (Yes, so sad. Malaysia don't import these P&G babies.)

Softness cannot compared with Merries. (Of course la, Merries always cost me Almost RM1.20 for a piece.)

But with such a fussy Sam, it can last me whole night too! Without leakage and it is always dry + rashes free.

Sam weights about 7.8kg now. So these M sizes still fits her well at the age of 1. She shrunks! And She used to wear L size due to her fatty thighs...now? jump back to M size. Guess more pcs than L size huh....

Anyway, To those kids who can't use Drypers Brand, I strongly suggest u to buy this brand from 11street. However, these PAmpers always sold out fast whenever it is up for sale.

So do look out at 11Street from time to time to grab great deals!

Similac Gain Plus Step 3 Review

Sam is finally 1 years old! So fast time flies! So I've to change her formula milk from Step 1 to Step 3! Yeah!!!Cheaper Supply!!!

Hahaha!!! Why skip a step? Because I made a phone call to Abbott Malaysia recently to enquire about it. Should I transit from Enfalac Step 1 to Step 2 Similac or just move to Step 3 instead. Advisor on the line told me just Step 3 will do as I told them Sam is eating well and Step 2 was for babies of 6months to 18 months. So why waste the time to get suited to it and change it again after sometime..

Oh, why do I change from Meadjohnson to Abbott suddenly?

Well, its complicated. I really love that brand and I did tried Enfagrow Step3. It turns out that Sam's tummy couldn't take it. She had her 1st hard stool and her anus was bleeding after forcing it out. I actually uses my hand to dig it out. yes. I know...so disgusting right but what de heck, little girl is crying out loud. I tried by making the milk more watery and made barley water for her still...the SAME outcome.

So, I adopted Abbott's Similac Gain Plus...I read it online about it and I love their veg blend oil. Their list of nutrients look ok too. But compared to enfagrow, maybe lesser DHA. But what to do?!
Plus, my sister in law gave similac to her kids and they are quite smart for their age.
Also, I am an Ensure Milk drinker. So I gave sam a try on this.

Immediately, she finishes every ounce of it and fell in love with it.

Normal stool and happy baby!

Price is ok and always give lousy promotion. they have this promo whereby you need to collect 48 scoopes only u can change a can of Similac.

Lousy presents as well. In fact, no presents at all! Abit disappointed because other brands gave blankets and etc.....

Maybe their milk is good till no need promo also people like me will continue to buy for their sake of children lo...

Recenttly, I went to an Abbott Fair at Midvalley's Aeon Big. Price for Similac was great at the price of RM 115.80 for 1.8kg.  But with no free gifts, unlike Enfagrow they are giving crayons and etc. Similac has none.

Being a stockist, again I bought 12 cans of it and it is my stock for the year.

So see you again Supermarket or Chinese medicine hall! or whenever my stocks of it ran out!

Pampers cruiswe Review in Malaysia

Recently, I've bought Pampers brand from 11street. As we all know, Pampers is no longer selling at our local supermarket. I was a Pampers baby according to my mum and I was eager to try this brand out when I accidentally stumbled on this at 11street.

Lucky for me I've gotten myself a 22% voucher at 11street! Hurray, so I used it and I got myself a piece of diaper at the price of RM0.46!

CHEAP! Even without the voucher, I still think it is cheap compared to Merries.

Pampers cruiser to be exact. ..

Bear in mind that if your goods is over RM99, shipping fees are free at 11street.

The seller for the Pampers was fast and great. Within 3 days I got the stuff delivered to my doorstep.

Sam was weighing about 7.5kg. (Yes I know, damn small for a year old baby) and I've overpurchased Size L Merries. So without further ado, I opened up the pampers package.

I discover the size is actually smaller and slimmer than Merries. However, the elastic band was great. It can accommodate Sam's big tummy and just nice to wrap sam's little thighs...

Design is bit plain with the logo can be seen behind. I've compared this brand with my all-time -favourite, Merries, this brand works well with Sam. It doesn't leak at night and rashes-free even the whole night full with it.

Maybe this is an imported brand of diaper, made in Korea. That's y sam can use.

With all these brands of diapers, I come to realise that Sam can only use diapers that are made in Korea and Japan!

What an expensive Butt!

thermos king food jar review

Recently http://thermosmalaysia.com/ has this first sign up get RM30 discount & free wrappings... (Till this end of December only)

With this amazing offer, I used it to purchase the hello kitty series of king food jar that I've been aiming for....(a hardcore kitty fan).

The food jar costs RM119 but after the discount, it was RM89.

Cheap and reasonable because it includes delivery!

One bad thing about Thermos Malaysia is the delivery service, it takes 7 days and they don't give us the tracking codes but an invoice and order number.

I did asked them on their facebook page after few days as when I go checked up my order status, it still written as "processing"

Damn ganjiong I tell u, however they responsed to my pm within few hours and I was rest-assured.

Back to the food jar, Sam began her solids 4 months back...and she is now a big eater.

Any food on sight she will screams her heads out to grab a bite. not wanting her to eat outside food too much, I precook her porridge and store it inside this food jar.

This food jar was amazing. It can keep the food for 4 hours long warm and full of Asap when u open the lid!!!!

Best part is, the porridge becomes more tender as the pressures takes in place to cook it when i shut it tight.

So, im giving a rate of 5/5!

i urged all newbie parents to buy this food jar as it is so essential for us. Especially us who always travel around...this is a must!

it comes with a spoon inside, so adult use also can!!!!

Mamypoko air fit diapers review

Ok, time for review again on diapers.

I've bought these mamypoko air fit made in Japan diapers sometime ago through lazada.

It was on the rack and I thought why not buy it cuz moony (that's what Japanese called them in Japan) is a hit in Japan than merries.

So I gave a trial on it last night and hey.
This is one hell good diaper.

It looks cute compared to merries. Well yeah, u c there's Winnie the Pooh pattern all over it  n damn they looked cute on it while merries has plain old bunnies.

Leakage wise it is almost the same as merries.

Which is good absorption and no rashes.

Insides are soft. No chance to take the inside baby was running wild in the house.

I bought these at an amazing price around 38 due to maxis voucher of rm30 while at the supermarket it is selling at 56.90 if on promo without it, it's about 63.90. While checking out the racks at aeon, I realized that there are no sample of these moony diapers.

Perhaps mamypoko authorities should includes some for the texture feeling.
Don't cha think?

Updates: Mama expo at MITC 2015

Tadah!

As guilty as charged, from the picture u can see it all.

I've bought walker pants of a carton (6 pax) and free 1 pax at the price of RM210!!

Same good deals from Lazada of RM150 foc RM50!

And this is better as it is hand carry and haul back the goods like a champion!!!!!!

Ok, back to the story.

Why I choose to buy Merries Walker Pants?

This is because as a principal of a childcare centre. I had witnessed the power of it.  From 9am till 12pm, no leakage at all. No buldges even after wearing it, just like a normal underwear due to the thinness of it. Till the point that my fellow educators didn't realised even after touching the child.

With this amazing offer, I quickly snatched a carton as pax at the supermarket will costs me RM36.90 or more.

So stay tuned to mama expo if Merries Kao was to set up a booth.

Mamypoko Maxi Absorb & Mamypoko Air Fit Pants

During Maxis's reward voucher of RM30 without any minimum spend.

I went and bought myself 3 pax of L size Mamypoko Maxo absorb due to the value offer.

It was at the price of RM 87.90 and after the discount, it was RM 57.90 with no shipping charges as I bought it during free-shipping day.

At the supermarket, it was selling at least the price of RM27.90 but with this voucher thingy. a pax only costs me RM19.30!

Not bad right?!

Anyway, i sold it off after awhile because my mother in law refers Merries as she is not keen of changing diapers.

Told her off that even Merries too have to change diapers oftenly but to no vail.

Anyway, I had two vouchers from Maxis as hubby too is a user.

I was drawn to this Mamypoko Air fit as it stated it was made in Japan.

It was on Lazada at the price of RM68. There i went. Purchased it at RM38. HAHAHAAHA!

What a good bargain!!!!

All of these purchases have not been used. Will post it again when I started to use it on Sam!

Starting Solids for 6 months old Sam

Sam turns 6 months old this month. So being a mum-freak, I began to google all the puree's recipe to introduce solids.

To start, I went and buy Freezer Cubes to store the puree as they said we will need bpa free containers to store it &dispose it after 6 months.

The brand I bought was Treenie which costs me RM21.80 at Yong Fong.

I bought two sets and have yet to blend anything yet as by the time I got back, I was dead tired and Sam was asleep. (If I start the mixer now, she will be wide awake)

Drypers Wipes Review + Drypers Talcum Powder Review + Pureen Wipes Review

As you can see, I put up an image of an inside of a Drypers Wee Wee Dry package.

It is said that with these codes, we can redeem points at www.drypers.com.my

And being a stockist of everything even though the product is not suitable to me, I redeem every packets of Drypers I had. (I got like, 6 packets of it or more)

After collecting so much points, I saw an ad of Drypers that can change Baby Wipes & Talcum Powder...delighted and everything, I quickly redeem it as I feel that this is worth it.. (They offers toys n etc...but I got too many of those from gifts..)

The goods arrived. (Which I redeemed two sets of it but took only a set of pic) like AFTER A MONTH!

Review for the Drypers Talcum Powder, smells great but not using it as my paed said talcum powder are not encourageable as it causes allergy and baby may inhale it.

I realised many typical grandmothers love to use powder to put it at baby's neck area and their genital areas. (well my MIL actually powder my girl till it looks like KFC fried chicken ready to be fry)

It is a wrong concept as the powder may even cause redness to go viral. the actual way to prevent the redness is to use a diaper cream. for my case I uses Sudocream which I got a sample from MMC.

So this talcum powder was given away and never to be seen

As for the Review of Drypers Baby Wipes? BAD. it smells good, feel good but not good for a baby butt.( while at least to Sam) I was using Pureen Fragrance free Baby Wipes with Mamypoko or Merries Diapers.  There were no rashes at all. TILL I change the wipes. Sam's ass turn glowing red.

(Pureen Frangrance Free Baby Wipes Jumbo pack. free a refill pack and 30s at the price of RM19.90 offer price at Madam Kings)

Then only I realised wipes too play a factor of a red bum.

So far the wipes I had used are Pureen Fragrance Free Baby Wipes (Red, Blue, Orange, Green in the size of jumbo, 100s, 30s and 80s) which I find that all no different as it is frangrance free and Pigeon Wipes & Mamypoko Baby Wipes.

Don't look down upon Mamypoko wipes, like my previous post about that brand. it has larger sheets and smell great. and the most important thing is it doesn't cause redness.

Pigeon Wipes was great too but cuz of the price. I did not continue to use it as Sam poos a lot...

Conclusion, The Drypers wipes will be used as my hand wipes after I clean Sam's butt with either Pureen's or Mamypoko's.

Quinny Zapp 2 Review

As u can see, I bought a Quinny Zapp 2. Rocky Black, If i'm not mistaken. Along with the carrier; Maxi Cosi.

Both are actually from the same company, its just that Maxi Cosi is more to carriers and seats..

Price is almost 2k plus cuz they called it the Travel System.. But I think now has a lot of version of Zapp 2. lots of awesome colours..

A little bit regret of buying a black one cuz all the mosquitos kinda "Hides" inside. And when I thought of buying the red one; quinny signature colour, my mum went like :aiyo, easy to dirty" then I saw the purple and Aqua colour + the wheel colour (Macam skateboards' wheel)....fuck ..regret to the max!

(Took this shot at the Mall cuz I like the flooring *sparkle*)

(Sam in Maxi Cosi Carrier)

Initially, I thought of having a Quinny Buzz

(Quinny Buzz Zapp 3)

It looks high enough so that we do not need a high chair when we dine out... till we fold it in....

70% of our car boots space will be taken~ (We are having a Peugeot 3008, which we can adjust our car boot level one)

Then Hubby gave me the No-way-we-gonna-have-this-look,  immediately we take zapp2 without further ado..

and also the price kills us off.....like almost can buy a motor d...almost hit 3k with the travel system..

Wanna see how Zapp2 folds? go google it then u will know..u will fall In love with it!

Cuz Zapp 2 wheel is good to push. and compact enough to put in our car, you can even check in ur stroller when you fly but must put in a bag.. just like baby zen yoyo..wait...maybe yoyo is smaller n square.

Even grandpa loves Quinny a lot! My dad recovered from stroke, so his momentum is bit out and his stamina is bad... So whenever he goes shopping with us, we will let him in charge of the stroller as in pushing it around to walk with. Old man doesn't like to use tongkat...so this saves his face right lot..

My dad pushes a lot of strollers (my brother's) he has experiences of pushing a Halford, Maclaren, SweetCherry and nonsense China brand, out of all these brands he still prefers Quinny. The smoothness and the braking system is good.

So new parents out there...get this if u have the budget...no regrets...

This stroller has style, smooth and compact....

One Canto Word to describe,

"JENG!"

Hippopo Baby Spa & Wellness Review

Being a new mum, I tend to try everything new including Baby Spa..

Recently, there's a new Hippopo Baby Spa opened at Melaka, The Shore.

And so I made a phone call to make an appointment. To my amaze, they only accept baby who are 4kg and above for their "swimming session" even though they claimed that they accept newborns.. or maybe they only do massage for newborns...

Babies who are going to swim will need to be injection free for 3 days, no flu& cough, fever and need to be fed before an hour. Reasonable and very good pre-cautios as parents these days clever to point fingers at people whenever something goes wrong. Especially for the old people, they will go like "aiya, i tell u liao so small don't bring to swim..so cold, wait get flu how?!"

Let me assure u, the pool are warm..the water is warm to swim in  and definitely not cold one...so if u plan to go and your folks are against it, tell them weeping say is warm one..no scare no scare, wouldnt get flu.

The reason I brought my girl to this swimming thing is cuz I believe exposing them to water dipping as young as months will definetly make things easy when we bring them to a bigger pool during their toddlers age.

and this spa really make Sam swims a lot, which proves that their 3 points, "longer sleep", "reduce crying and emotional stress", improve baby's growth and health" well.

1st point, "improve baby's growth and health"

yes, she really kicks a lot in the water and much exercises was done. also it appears that, she can stand faster than other babies. at 5 months she is already standing by herself.

PROVEN

2nd point, "longer sleep"

hell yea, after that much of exercises, she slept throughout the night or noon.

PROVEN

3rd, "reduce crying and emotional stress"

Of course! she was really damn happy when she was in the pool. Smilling, kicking and doing all the balls thing around her. Looking at her, I think she is having a hell of a good time. Of course, she didn't cry for half n hour straight...till she is at the changing area, she's hungry.

PROVEN

No doubts, Hippopo Baby really gives Sam a good time. their pools look very prof and the environment looks great.

( This is the bigger pool that above 6 months old will swim, this pool's water will only change at the end of the day)

(While this is the smaller ones, Individual pool. This pool changes water every time when a baby goes in.)

Did I mentioned that the water they used are all filtered water? like those diamond water type one, I strongly suggest that babies should go for the individual pool if you guys are a hygiene freak like me or go to the big pool when they first fill (first appointment maybe?) so that u wouldn't be sharing the water with the rest.

These pools have all the bubbly function and wave function will then create waves in the water like jaccuzi. The staffs will then encourage the babies to kick to stay with the flows or put toys to persuade or making them relax in the water.

(A picture of Sam enjoying the session)

Following is the price of the sessions.... they will every now and then have promotion for sign ups..therefore stay tune to their fb for more updates...

Enfalac A+ Review and Enfalac A+ Gentlease Review

Being a low supply mum, I have to mix feed my baby.

My supply simply couldn't not keep up with my baby's demand and I'm constantly away taking care of other people's children than mine. (A principal of a kindergarden)

During the stay at MMC, the nursery gave Baby Sam Anmum essential. And when my bm kicks in after 3 days, she refuses to drink through bottle when I fed her my BM. (So does latching, she was a little nipple confusion but I fixed it up in few times.)

The refusal almost ended my bf journey as I thought since she is not interested why waste my time for it. Till, I finally tasted that FM. It was sweet and my BM is abit tasteless than that.

Then I start googling while forcing her to take my BM. Sadly to say, there are NO information about infant FM due to government's law & regulations. This is because they are promoting on BM. I find this a bit hurtful that time as I was really struggling with demands and my BM was hardly oozing out.

So, I went to the TCM near Taman Merdeka. They introduced me Enfalac A+ Gentlease as Baby Sam was vomiting her milk out throughout the time.

It was a bit more pricy than the normal Enfalac A+ as it is an edition for special cases. I got it like RM106 for 900g while the normal ones (yellow colour box) is only  RM98 for 900g (those were the days before GST..i doubt u can get it at this price now)

I continue this particular edition till Baby Sam has no more vomiting problem, it was like for 3 months.

Then I slowly tuned to Enfalac A+

As u can see, I bought the whole carton.

I  was offered the price of RM130 per box of 1.3kg. (market is like 154.90) and so I took a whole carton of it as Baby Sam was ok with it.

Ok means she passes her motion well, her little stomach is adapting well lo. She did not constipates and she didn't vomit like when she was a newborn.

Why I bought a carton of it despite im still bf her? cuz her appetite is unusually huge..

at the month of 3, she actually drank like 3 oz of milk every 2 hours. Oh god! and I was away from her and she drinks per pump! meaning I got no stocks for the next feed if I didn't pumped! and sometimes it is not enough so we need to top up!

We open per pack every 7 days! WALAOWEH! So how not to buy a carton leh?!

Anyway, back to Enfalac A+. According to the TCM I went, they said this is the most similar milk to BM and they have more "goodies" in  their milk. Babies who drinks this brand seldom get sick if they are "OK" with it. Which is why the price is more higher compared to other brands.

Enfalac will not have any promo ongoing as it is an infant milk  as gov promo human nen nen but for Enfagrow. their roadshow is so damn keng one. remember the brain expo they had during May15?

I went n compared the nutrition they had with others. It seems Enfalac has more DHA compares with others. Meaning, another intelligent baby incoming.

I can see the differences between my baby and my sister in law's which consumes Similac. Both have different progress. (I know cannot compare one cuz it depends on individuality) My sister in law's starts to get sick even as young as 2 months old but Baby Sam till now (almost 6 months) hardly get flu...my mum said maybe she is partially breastfed. But still, the differences is there.

I don't know whether is Enfalac or what but I really like the fact that Enfalac has more convicing label than others lo. Judging by Enfagrow.

What do you think?

Breastfeeding Journey

As the title shown, Breasfeeding Journey....

Mine was a hard one....

I had a caesarean op when i was week 38 due to high blood pressure.

My reading was like 150-160 and Dr Wan went like "no way..u  gotta go man~"

So there I was, wheeled in and ready to be cut...

Baby came out like 2.65kg, an ok weight for a baby girl.

(Baby Sam's detail)
Before I was shown to my baby. I was asked whether I want to breastfeed my baby a not..

Automatically, I said why not?! Breastfeed is A mother nature act, it should not be hard...

To my dismay, I got no milk yet when Baby Sam was taken out from me. A drop also tak ada!

So scary and she was crying like non-stop till the nurses offer me another alternatives. which is formula milk.

The whole situation backfired. I thought I will have my milk kicked in immediately after labour so naturally I did not prepare any FM as backup. My baby bag only consist of diapers, change of clothes, milk bottles, towels, wipes and some toiletries for the babies that I grabbed from baby hampers. So sadly I told the nurse, I didn't bring. HOW?!

Lucky for me, MMC is sponsored by Anmum. So they gave Anmum FM to her first for her first 3 days on earth.

Yea...3 days only. Cuz after that, my milk kicks in. Hoooray!!! u know how do I feel when it first kicks in? I was like on top of the hills when I wet my bed!!! (yes, it came when I was sleeping)

Ok, so I latch and latch and begins to feel like I gotta stock up all these gold drips in case suddenly no supplies.. (kiasu lady) So I uses my first set of pump from Pigeon.

(Got these all from their Breastfeeding talk at Marvelux)

Did  I mentioned that I actually rushes for the breasfeeding talk that Pigeon organized at Marvelux Hotel before my next day of delivery?! Oh yes I did.... and I got myself a pump of their brand to extract my golds..

But to my dismay, this Pigeon Single Breastpump is not good enough.. Got not enough horsepower to pump out all my BM...This pump costs me like RM299, bought it at Parkson.

The best I can get is like only 4 oz from both sides..which is like after 30 minutes! Membrane of this pump is bad. Whenever I took the pump away from me, it will fell out along or stuck at my breast no matter how I put it. It felt very plastic and I don't feel safe using it as it feels like it might tear apart if I were to have a slight drop.

Lucky for me, I was having my confinement with a helper beside me to care for the baby and me. So I can slowly pump at will and carefully or else....this pump will end up in the bin

(Pigeon Breastpump)

At the meantime to increase my yield, I was introduced by my cousins to take this particular brand of Fenugreek. I got this from GNC at the price of RM68. And lucky for me, GNC was having this BUY 2 FREE 1 bottle program! Damn super lucky right?!

Without further a do, I started wacking these pills like 8 capsules a day. Two capsules at a time to increase my yield.

(Fenugreek From GNC)

After 2 weeks of using the Pigeon Portable Single pump and direct latching, my nipples are not that sensitive anymore. Plus I was starting to be pekcek with that pump liao and it too sorta gave up on me or should I said my nipples gave up on it. It doesn't stimulate my breast anymore with its massage mode.

So I have to search for another pump...

I was then introduced by Yong Fong; a renowed babyshop in Melaka that sells all babies stuff , an  Avent Single Eletronic Pump.

It was heaven sent as this has more horsepower!

(Avent Single Eletronic Pump)

This brand not only has enough power for suction, the membrane is very soft enough to cup your breast. Unlike the Pigeon ones, the membrane feels more solid and not easily drop out. And best of all, it has a cover to cover my membrane! Hygienic right?!

(My yield of 10 mins)

I uses this pump till I started working which then i come to realise....i got not enough time to pump...I was devastated as it was a single pump not double pump. meaning I have to wait for 10 mins of pumping on a side then change to another side for another 10 mins to pump again. Such waste of time!

So I began to search for double pumps online and got myself AGAIN lucky when someone was putting their Medela Freestyle on sale!!!!!

At the price of RM950, i got myself a good secondhand double branded pump! HOOORRAY!!!!!!

(My medela FS)

(Medela FS when it is on)

It is really god sent.

The horsepower the everything was nothing like the two pumps before.

It was a great pump but I will not buy it first hand as it comes at the price of RM1899! Hefty price which includes all the essential breastfeeding materials.

(10 mins of pumping of both sides)

I usually pump for 10 mins as my nipples sores easily. Unlike other mothers, they can withstand a pump of 30 mins each sides...I simply cannot lo as I too am a low-supply mum who mix feed my Baby Sam with FM. (check out my post of FM that i used on mixed feedings)

To BF mums out there, do train your babies to take bottles early. I know u guys want to latch as much as possible, trust me guys....u gotta give the bottle a go else your breast will be solely own by your baby only lo.

Wait you go work liao after confinement, baby don't wan bottle how?! Then your MIL or your Mother will be like, "His/her mother la! act clever, hisap tetek saja! tak mau bagi susu formula.kasi buat hidup saya susah!"

So to avoid this kinda situation happened, I gave milk bottle as soon I half latched Baby Sam with formula milk. Many asked me why i didn't give all BM, my reasons are.. im a low supply mum. second i was pain near my pelvic area, so my helper gave FM when i was resting. third, the reason I gave earlier..to avoid unwanted scenes n arguments..

(Avent Glass Bottle)
My choice of bottle was Avent. A glass ones as I think glass one are better than the plastic ones when we reheat BM. I mean we are gonna reheat it a gazillion times right? plastic wait melt how??! I know got BBA and etc, still....worry pots like me...cannot accept the fact of reheating with a plastic materials lo!

Plus, these glass bottles can be used over and over again. Unlike plastic bottles that needs to be change every 3-6 months! I know u guys will ask what bout the teats and the covers. Also made of plastic mer...

Teats, I will change every 2 months as I think 3 months is too long and this one is direct contact to your mouth one...then the cover and the white ring hor can be recycled! Avent sometimes will have those recycled event to trade in the old bottles and buy the bottles at half price one..and I have those small plastic Avent bottle ones that I got it as presents. What I did was I changed the older ones to the new plastic ones and trade it in to get a new ring and cover! Wahla! Smart kan?!

Anyway, I also got buy plastic ones.. I kinda use it when I go traveling. Much lighter lo, else my Papa bag super heavy~

The cons of having this bottle are only two.

1.) will break - but to tell u the truth, I dropped it almost everytime when I washed. still it looks fine. maybe cuz of the thick quality of the glass.
2.) heavy than the plastic ones. so if you want to try your baby to hold her own bottle, this might be an offset for you.

(The holder for the bottle to keep warm n avoid breakage)

To reheat my BM, hubby bought a Avent Bottle Warmer to make my life easier. However the offset for this warmer is there are no timer or temperature to show.
Meaning you gotta guess and estimate by your own as there is no display of it. It is an overall quite simple warmer to use. Just put some water in and then turn the heat up according to the level of milk you have put. BECAUSE of this SIMPLICITY, it is the BIGGEST OFFSET point!

(Avent bottle Warmer)

So, pls pls pls do not let your ignorance helper use it as it will destroy your BM!

I have this experience once, my helper went and reheat the milk then proceed doing her chores.

With no timer or  temperature shows, my helper actually put it more than the time needed. The BM actually turns out to be too hot and the whole milk bottle was really hot to be hold which i proceeded to throw away the BM as i m afraid that the entities inside has been destroy or not safe for consumptions.

So, Avent...pls do take this into consideration. Develop a new one with a timer and temperature display ok! our BM is too precious to be thrown away lo!!! Your brand is supposed to help us in our BF journey, not helping to destroy my BM!
